Gynecology & Surgery
We care for the gynecologic needs of all women from adolescence through menopause. Adolescents will benefit from the care of gentle and compassionate providers who delicately balance their needs with education about menstrual issues, HPV vaccination, and contraception.
Well-woman exams include physical examination from head to toe along with age appropriate screening recommendations and procedures.
We also provide in depth care of patients with active gynecological problems including: menstrual irregularities, sexual dysfunction, STD screening, and menopausal evaluations and treatments,
For those with surgical needs, we perform a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, hysterectomy and more.
Well Woman Care
• Annual Breast Exam: For early detection of breast disease
• Pap testing which includes cervical cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment for precancerous lesions of the cervix.
• Bone Densitometry: for early detection of osteoporosis
• Screening: for cholesterol, thyroid dysfunction, diabetes
• Pelvic Ultrasound and CA-125: Screening for ovarian cancer in high risk individuals
• HPV Vaccinations: for the prevention of cervical cancer, cervical dysplasia and condyloma
Menstrual Cycle Control
Women often use oral contraceptive pills for reasons other than birth control. The Pill comes in a variety of dosages and even routes. A hormone patch, vaginal ring and even a subcutaneous injection are now available.
Each method utilizes hormones that are similar to those made in a woman's body, to control the monthly hormone cycle. This makes periods predictable, lighter and less uncomfortable.
Other health benefits include less acne, less anemia, improved fertility in the future, decreased risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer.
Women with a history of blood clots (deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism) should not use hormones.
